Our Facilitators
Meet the instructors who are leading us through study of the various classes and workshops of the Discipleship Formation Program.

Paul Bonekamp
After spending a couple of years as a classroom teacher during his twenties, Paul decided to make a career shift and took a job as a power electrician for Manitoba Hydro. He enjoys reading old books, talking about old books, spending time outdoors, and playing tabletop games with his friends and family. Paul and his wife Keri have three children and currently live in Grunthal, Manitoba.
Paul will be the facilitator for the Wisdom of the Ancients course.

Hannah Connelly & Rhéal Chartier
Hannah Connelly and Rhéal Chartier are a young married couple from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Hannah is currently studying for a Master's in Counselling, after completing a B.A. in Conflict Resolution. Rhéal is a high school math and science teacher in a local French immersion school. As young adults, both of them spent multiple years at the St. Therese Institute of Faith And Mission, living in community and studying the Catholic faith.
Hannah and Rhéal will be the facilitators for the Holistic Sexuality course.

Godwin will lead us through the Iconography workshop.

Harley Dyck
Harley is a graduate of Providence University College and the University of Manitoba, holding degrees in music and philosophy. He is a recent convert to Catholicism, but perhaps not so coincidentally, his interests in both church music and early music go much further back. He currently lives in Winnipeg and works in Morris.
Harley will lead us through a Sacred Music workshop.

James Kautz
James Kautz is the Executive Director of the Catholic School of Evangelization. He was raised a Free Methodist and pursued a Bachelor of Theology degree, but became Catholic in 1998, which derailed his plans to enter ordained ministry. Instead he followed life's currents to a career in customer service management, until the Lord called him to lead the CSE in 2021. He and his wife Dawn have nine children and live in Kleefeld, Manitoba.
James will be leading the Public Speaking and Biblical Life Integration courses.

Deacon Michel & Elaine Landry
Deacon Michel & Elaine have been married 42 years and are proud of their two children, their spouses and four grand-children. In their previous careers, Michel was college instructor and Telecommunications Project Manager while Elaine was a Laboratory Technologist. It was in this career that Elaine recognized and developed her spiritual gifts of compassion for the sick. Their involvement in the healing ministry has spanned more than 25 years but has intensified during the past few years since attending ministry formation. Both are instruments of God's manifestations & work together in near full-time healing & deliverance ministry.
Deacon Michel and Elaine will lead workshops on personal healing, and will make themselves available for personal healing ministry.

Jeff Lesage
Jeff Le Sage is an educator with over 10 years of teaching experience. He has taught Catholic religion courses at Holy Cross School and St. Boniface Diocesan High School from grades 2-12, and is excited to take on the role of school principal at St. Boniface Diocesan High School for the upcoming school year.
Becoming Catholic at the age of 26 inflamed his love for his faith, through prayer and learning the history of the Catholic Church. He has specifically taken an interest in the medieval period and has taken additional courses at the university level to understand this period more in-depth. Jeff enjoys the subject areas of history and business which he continues to explore as a life-long learner. Jeff’s other interests including sports such as baseball and basketball. He also enjoys board games and historical movies.
Jeff considers himself blessed to have a supportive and faith-filled marriage and family with his wife Janice and his four children (Sebastian, Gabrielle, Desiree, and Jasmine). He resides in the town of Lorette and is an active member in the Notre Dame de Lorette Parish.
Jeff will be facilitating the Church History Alive course.

Deacon Gilles Urquhart
Born in Northern Ontario and raised in Winnipeg, Gilles Urquhart has been the owner of Stephanchew Church Goods since 2000. Ordained as a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Boniface in 2008, he served at Holy Redeemer Parish for 2 years, then for 8 years at Holy Cross Parish. He is currently ministering at St Emile Parish. He is also the local chaplain for Courage.
Deacon Gilles will lead us through a study of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (beating Fr. Mike Schmitz's podcast to the punch).

Gilbert Vielfaure
Gilbert Vielfaure received the original vision and mission to bring about the Catholic School of Evangelization. He was its inaugural president from 1988 to 1993 and the school’s director for thirteen years starting in 1993 until 2005. He is a graduate of the John Paul II Bible School (Alberta) and has been the CEO of Centre Flavie in Winnipeg since 2005. He received an honorary doctorate of laws degree from the University of Manitoba in 2022. He and his wife Rachel have four adult children and three grandchildren.
Gilbert will lead us through an Apologetics workshop.
